Accademia Romana d’Armi SSDRL has operated in Rome since 2001 and with about 300 members (figures at end of 2017-2018), 22 weekly classes and 12 chapter in the City, represents one of the most important Italian protagonists in the field of the HEMA – Historical European Martial Arts.
HEMA, the discipline that origined modern fencing, has been recently recognised by Italian Olympic Commitee (CONI), with number of activity 240 (act n. 1568, Consiglio Nazionale, 02/14/2017). The instructors of Accademia Romana d’Armi are all certified by Italian Fencing Federation (F.I.S.) and CSEN both in HEMA and in sport fencing, to guarantee a solid training experience.
The Society palmarès includes many national CSEN championship titles (2015-2018), alongside several first places in the main HEMA international competitions. Accademia runs also several competitions among the national CSEN championship, and the important event A.I.M.A. ROMA.
The Society is also active in promotion of HEMA culture and research, through collaborations with School of all types and level, and with the publishing houses Bonanno and Il Cerchio.
